2023…an odd sort of year. It’s already well into the first quarter, we have had torrential rains, long for the South stretches of frigid temps with 50 degree slides into single digits in one day, the hardiest of evergreens look to be in a burnt brown or defoliated slump.

Today Feb 22-will hit 79…swaths of daffodils are blooming out, our peach tree has half stretched out blooms as if to come half alive the other half still dormant knowing frigid frosts lurk around the corner at least until April even May. It will be an interesting year to see who makes it, and who doesn’t. The climate is acting out in its most powerful usual self, unrelenting to any rules of man, churning up winds freezes rains stirring up havoc and causing calamities of colossal sorts in an uncompromising and unapologetic way. We are having to make modifications for it- it never makes modifications for us. So we will see what survives, and what needs to be pulled, and we will see if there will be resulting plant shortages from large populations of homeowners and commercial businesses needing new landscapes. Its a good time to be in the landscape business!

I’m enjoying reading and seeing your garden photos.
I also agree with what you wrote about the term Master Gardener.
I’m not used to Word Press and how to post here or use it, but I’m so glad i found your inspiring garden blog!
